Empire of the Hand
Created by Grand Admiral Thrawn during his exploration and conquest of the Unknown Regions for the Empire, the Empire of the Hand was to continue his work in his absence; being left with the prophecy that he would return within ten years of his death. An amalgamation of Chiss and Imperial ideals and philosophy, the Empire of the Hand is an inclusive government, unlike the Empire, and seeks to pacify the Unknown Regions and defend the galaxy from threats from within the Uknown Regions and from outside the galaxy.
With the death of Thrawn's clone, the Empire of the Hand has encountered a crisis of identity. Many of its worlds and personnel have now been absorbed by the Chiss Ascendancy, which seeks to annex the Empire of the Hand to spread its influence and military capabilities. While this would be a source of conflict for any other set of governments, Thrawn's influence on the Empire of the Hand make waging war against the Chiss government difficult, and has lead to a complete stalling of the Empire of the Hand's government. Currently it is faced with a crisis as many within the Empire of the Hand's leadership is advocating a dissolution of the government and joining the Chiss Ascendancy or seeking a renewed relationship with the Imperial Remnant. Despite this, it remains a formidible military force.
