New Republic Marines
The majority of the New Republic's federal surface forces since the end of Operation Shadow Hand, the New Republic Marines are exclusively based aboard the starships of the New Republic Defense Fleet. They are organized under Assault Squadrons, which are named by ship assignment, and make up the alloted troops of the vessek. In addition, each Battle Group's Marines are organized under an Assault Brigade. The Marines utilize the rank system of the New Republic Army despite their assignment to the New Republic Defense Fleet.
