Roleplay Rules
1. Posts should be detailed and precise; players should try to include information about setting and background information in their posts. "One liners" are discouraged, and can be subject to moderation by the Staff. In combat, a player must specify where and how s/he is attacking, and whether or not the attack is intended to be fatal. Note also, that all attacks must have a reasonable means of countering them, and all counters have to reasonably work. Warfare posts require a summary of moves and losses. 2. Killing a character against its player's will is discouraged, but permissible if it furthers a plot or should the player willingly put their character in an inescapable position. If a character is killed, the player must accept this; deus ex machina stated after the fact are not allowed. In certain instances, however, Force sensitive characters can return in the form of a ghost or spirit, but are limited by canon as to what they can do. 3. In-character events of Live RP (via chat rooms, Skype, or other mediums) and forum are concurrent; what happens in one effects the other, and the same standards and rules apply to both. Players are encouraged to post transcripts of their Live RP's on the forums, and are reminded that plots occurring in Live RP without the knowledge or consent of relevant Players (or the Staff) will not be recognized as legitimate. Any combat (individual, group, or fleet/army) or situations in which a character has died are required to have a transcript posted on the forum, but we ask that all Live RP has a posted transcript for matters of record. In fleet/army combat, both sides must be represented by a relevant player character. 4. When it is their turn to post on a thread, a Player is allowed 96 hours to respond, after which the next Player may choose to "invoke the four day rule," to confirm any actions in the previous post and continue the thread. Life happens though, and if you are able to give warning that you will be late, you will be exempt from the rule. Staff reserves the right to post or "auto" on a Member's behalf, A.) if the Member is consistently in violation of the "four day rule" in a thread, and B.) the thread in question is deemed important to a plot or storyline. 5. Echoes of Endor is based closely on the Star Wars canon of the Legends timeline, up to the point of 25 ABY just before the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong War, with limited flexibility for the development of original characters, and players are expected not to substantively alter the past of canon. For more information on the Canon, or the timeline among other information, please refer to a Star Wars sourcebook, Wookieepedia, or the HoloNet (our independent mini-wikia). Any RP taking place after the starting point of the plot of the RP is open in full to the players. |
