• The Imperial Civil War begins as the Empire fragments following Paplatine's death.
• Alliance Headquarters is moved to the Sanctuary Moon over Endor.
• The Coruscant Uprising is brutally crushed. Naboo's uprising also suffers defeat but Tatooine is able to obtain independence immediately following the Battle of Endor.
• The Ssi-ruuvi attack Bakura. The Rebel Alliance responds and is able to temporarily end the Ssi-ruuvi Invasions.
• The Rebel Alliance is reorganized into the Alliance of Free Planets.
• Zsinj's Empire is formed.
• The Pentastar Alignment is formed.
• Lumiya continues the Order of the Sith Lords.
• The Nagai-Tof War occurs as the Nagai and the Tof carry their war over into the Galaxy. It is eventually settled by the Alliance of Free Planets.
• The Alliance of Free Planets is reorganized into the New Republic following the Declaration of a New Republic.
• Kashyyyk is liberated by the opening campaigns of the New Republic.

5 ABY
• Emperor Sate Pestage, previously Grand Vizier, attempts to defect to the New Republic but is killed by Admiral Delak Krennel.
• Ysanne Isard becomes Empress.
• The Central Committee of Grand Moffs is formed to directly oppose Ysanne Isard.
• Jerec and his band of Dark Jedi are defeated by Kyle Ktarn.
• The Yevetha rebel and form the Duskhan League.
• Zorba and Gorga resurrect Jabba's criminal empire, completely ignoring and disregarding his son Rotta.
• The Eriadu Authority is fragmented upon Superior General Sander Delvardus' retreat to the Deep Core.

6 ABY
• Yuuzhan Vong agent Nom Anor enters the Galaxy.
• Grand Admiral Octavian Grant defects to the New Republic.
• Rogue Squadron is reformed by the New Republic.
• The Empire begins large scale abandonment of territory.
• The Krantian Civil War is ended, and the planet of Krant immediately joins the New Republic.
• The New Republic seizes Coruscant, officially supplanting the Empire as the galactic government. Large portions of the galaxy proceed to join the New Republic.

7 ABY
• The Bacta War occurs.
• The New Republic begins to specifically target Zsinj.
• Wraith Squadron is formed.

8 ABY
• The Hapes Consortium re-opens its borders and formed official diplomatic relations with the New Republic.
• The Nightsisters of Dathomir are defeated.
• Zsinj is defeated and his Empire eliminated.
• The New Republic begins to fight with the Empire and Teradoc for the remains of Zsinj's Empire.
• Kuat is taken by the New Republic.
• Anaxes joins the New Republic.
• The Greater Maldrood collapses, causing Teradoc's retreat to the Deep Core.
• Grand Admiral Thrawn returns from the Unknown Regions and begins assuming command of the remaining Imperial forces.
• The Empire of the Hand is created before Thrawn's departure a a backup plan.

9 ABY
• The Thrawn Campaign occurs.
• The Ciutric Hegemony is defeated by the New Republic.

10 ABY
• The Imperial Warlords are united by the Ruling Council.
• The New Republic is driven off of Coruscant. the New Republic capital is temporarily relocated to Pinnacle Base on Da Soocha V.
• Emperor Palpatine returns to the galaxy and assumes leadership of the Dark Empire, which takes control of the remains of the Empire.
• During the chaos of the galaxy, many independent worlds form protective federations.
• Luke Skywalker falls to the Dark Side, becoming apprenticed to Palpatine. He is redeemed by his sister, Leia Organa Solo.
• Da Soocha V is destroyed by the Galaxy Gun. The New Republic Provisional Council relocates to the Space City over Nespsi VIII.
• The Eclipse is destroyed when Palpatine loses control of a Force Storm, killing himself in the process. He is resurrected again in another clone body.
• The Space City is also destroyed by the Galaxy Gun, leading to the Provisional Council's relocation to Dac.
• New Alderaan is invaded by the Dark Empire, three years after it was invaded by Zsinj.

11 ABY
• Palpatine meets his final death aboard the Eclipse II. The Eclipse II collides with the Galaxy Gun, resulting in the destruction of both. In its final moments, the Galaxy Gun releases on of its projectiles which collides with Byss, destroying the planet.
• The Order of the Sith Lords is technically destroyed, but Lumiya remains as an untrained Sith.
• The New Republic reoccupies Coruscant.
• The warlords leave the Empire and reclaim their former territory in the Deep Core.
• The remains of the Dark Empire, once the Empire leaves it, is reorganized into the Crimson Empire.
• New Alderaan is reclaimed yet again by the New Repubilc.
• The New Republic Provisional Council reorganizes into the Ruling Council with the establishment of the New Republic Senate.
• The New Jedi Order is established by Luke Skywalker with the founding of the Jedi Praxeum in the former Rebel base in the Great Temple on Yavin IV.
• Jedi Headquarters are built over the remains of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
• Admiral of the Gial Ackbar accidentally crashes his personal B-Wing into the Cathedral of the Winds on Vortex, destroying the structure and killing hundreds of Vors.
• Kyp Duron, under the influence of the spirit of Exar Kun, destros the Cauldron Nebula, the Carida System, and the Death Star Prototype with the Sun Crusher before it is lured into a black hole in The Maw before being rescued and redeemed.
• Leia Organa Solo is elected as Chief of State to replace the ailing Mon Mothma, marking the first time Mon Mothma was not leading the Alliance/Republic since its formation.

12 ABY
• Kyle Katarn joins the initial class of Jedi being trained by Luke Skywalker.
• Blitzer Harrsk moves his forces into the Atravis Sector.
• Netasi Daala and Gilad Pellaeon kill the Imperial warlords and unite the remaining Imperial forces into the Imperial Remnant.
• The Imperial Remnant annexes the Pentastar Alignment, and the Imperial Civil War is noted as being over.
• The Hutts construct the Darksaber, a crude copy of the Galaxy Gun, which is later destroyed by New Republic forces.
• The Corellian Sector officially joins the New Republic. The Diktat is replaced by a Governor-General, which soon becomes a position within every New Republic sector.
• The Antarian Rangers are re-established by the New Jedi Order and survivors of the organization.

13 ABY
• Adumar is rediscovered by the New Republic. In the following months it is unified and admitted as a member.
• The Death Seed pandemic occurs.

14 ABY
• The Empire Reborn is formed by Galek Fyyar and Desann. It is the last major Imperial Remnant faction outside of the Remnant itself, and is defeated in its assault on Yavin IV.
• The survivors of the Empire Reborn form the Disciples of Ragnos, who are later defeated by Jedi.
• Slavery is heavily cracked down on by the New Republic.

15 ABY
• Brakiss is confronted by Luke Skywalker.

16 ABY
• The Black Fleet Crisis begins.

17 ABY
• The Black Fleet Crisis ends.
• The Almanian Uprising occurs. During the crises, Mon Mothma temporarily serves as Chief of State.
• The Imperial Skirmishes occur, reducing the Remnant to the eight sectors surrounding Bastion.
• Former Imperials are allowed to serve in the New Republic Senate.

18 ABY
• The Corellian Crisis occurs.
• Leia Organa Solo temporarily steps down as Chief of State, with Ponc Gavrisom being elected as a caretaker Chief of State, due to mounting political pressure.
• Prakith, a rogue Imperial holdout, peacefully surrenders to the New Republic.

19 ABY
• The New Republic establishes Sector Assemblies to govern its constituent sectors, being chaired by the Governor-General of each sector.
• The Ishori-Diamal Dispute occurs.
• Grand Admiral Thrawn's return is faked by Grand Moff Hissa and other traditionalist elements of the Imperial Remnant.
• The Caamas Document Crisis occurs.
• Grand Admiral Pellaeon, seeing the impossible position the Remnant was in, sues for peace with the New Republic. The Pellaeon-Gavrisom Treaty, also known as the Bastion Accords, are signed, officially ending the Galactic Civil War.
• The Hand of Thrawn is destroyed.
• Many veterans of the Civil War finally retire, seeing their service no longer needed on both sides.
• Imperials unhappy with the peace form the Second Imperium. They are immediately disavowed by the Imperial Remnant.

21 ABY
• Ponc Gavrisom resigns as Chief of State, returning the office to Leia Organa Solo

22 ABY
• The wreckage of Outbound Flight is discovered by a joint Chiss/Empire of the Hand mission.

23 ABY
• The Second Imperium Crisis occurs, which sees the end of the Second Imperium and the destruction of the Shadow Academy.
• The Diversity Alliance is formed.
• Leia Organa Solo resigned as Chief of State, leading to the election of Borsk Fey'lya to the position.

24 ABY
• The Yuuzhan Vong being their final preparations for their invasion of the Galaxy.
• Civil War breaks out on Ter Abbes.
• The ExGal Society is infiltrated by Yuuzhan Vong agent Yomin Carr.
• The Diversity Alliance Crisis occurs.
• The Cooperative Council of Independent Planetary Governments is formed by the New Republic.
• Black Sun is finally destroyed by the efforts of the Jedi.
• Han Solo ends the civil war on Anobis.

25 ABY
• Gial Ackbar retires.
• The Osarian-Rhommamool Conflict is responded to by the Mediator-class Battle Cruiser Mediator.
