Jedi Rules
1. The New Jedi Order is headed by the Master of the Order, currently Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. 2. Jedi ranks consist of Initiate, Apprentice, Knight, and Master, in addition to the Master of the Order. Initiates are the beginning ranks of the Jedi. Initiates become Apprentices once gaining a personal instructor, also known as master, a Knight or Master, after achieving a functional understanding of the Force. An Apprentice is Knighted upon satisfactorily completing their training in the opinion of their personal instructor and upon the approval of the Master of the Order, who personally Knights the Jedi in the presence of the master. A Knight becomes a Master by successfully training a Jedi to the rank of Knight, however doing so is not required for Masterhood nor does doing so entitle it; all Masters are promoted by the Master of the Order. The Master of the Order in the event of a vacancy is selected by consensus from among the Masters. All ranks are equivalent to those noted in the Force Rules, with exception to that of Councilor, which does not exist at this time but such status can be granted for Force Rules purposes upon exceptional Jedi Masters, and Grand Master, which is currently identified by the Master of the Order. 3. Any Knight or Master may take as many students as they wish, but are encouraged to limit themselves to only one at a time. 4. The Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV serves as the primary training ground of the Jedi. No other training facilities currently exist. The Jedi Headquarters on Coruscant serve as the embassy of the Jedi to the New Republic as well as the wider galaxy. 5. The Jedi have direct judicial responsibility over their members until the actions of a member become criminal acts against non-members, at which case jurisdiction is handed over to the New Republic. In many cases, the wishes of the Jedi in regards to these members is still respected. |
