General Rules
1. All Members must be 13 years of age or older. This is a requirement of our host and protects them, Echoes of Endor, and the Players, as well as you, should you be underage. While we would love to have you among us, we ask that if you are younger than this, to please wait until you are of appropriate age to join. 2. We ask, but do not require, that Members maintain a dedicated OOC account. 3. Choice of a username is your exclusive right; however we have some requirements. We ask that your username be first and last name, if applicable, of a character, with an underscore between the names. Please do not use foreign characters unless appropriate to the name. OOC accounts are exempt from these requirements. 4. Communication in the forum is based on the principles of generally accepted morality and "netiquette". Usage of swear and abusive words is discouraged, but not prohibited. Staff, however, will step in should such language become excessive or insulting to other Players. In role-play, language should be kept within the bounds seen within the Star Wars universe (canon curses, PG - PG-13 language, etc.). Should language or content exceed what one might expect from or be considered PG or PG-13, a warning of explicit content is required, and beyond content considered R rated should not be for public viewing. 5. The subject of a thread should, generally, be relative to the event. Before you create a new thread, make sure that you create it in the proper forum. We ask that you attempt to use good grammar and sentence structure in your posts as well, so that they may be easily read and interpreted. We do recognize not all of us are authors in the making, but if you are joining a text-based role-playing game, it is expected that you have at least some ability in writing. 6. Military forces, special abilities (aside from the Force), certain weapons, armor, and tech, and new factions, planets, species, or tech must be requested for Staff review, and approval or denial, as well as items sold from one character or organization to another. Exceptions are made for personal ships and weapons, however, a character should be able to realistically afford, acquire, or have access to the items being requested and/or claimed, and any modified ships or equipment must be requested. Only Staff and the requesting Player may comment on requests. All requests should go on the requests forum, here. 7. Characters will not be allowed powers, abilities, or modifications with the effect of making that character invincible, or without a reasonable ability to counter; any such modification is subject to the request process, and any attempt to circumvent this process will result in automatic voiding of the character by the Staff until the modification is requested and approved or the character has been corrected. 8. Every character must have a profile, and separate account, before considered active and available for RP. We do not require applications or a standard template for character profiles. A character may appear in only one thread without a profile, as long as it is previously discussed and approved by all participating players of the thread. It is expected that character profiles will be kept up to date by the player. 9. You may create an original character or take on a canon character of the Star Wars universe that is noted as being alive at the onset of the RP. If taking a canon character, a request must be made for that character including a profile and RP sample with that character. You will be free to act as you desire with a canon character once they are approved for your use, but we ask that the general spirit or direction of the character is maintained and any dramatic shifts in the character be something reasonable, with cause, and RP to back it up. Unclaimed canon characters will be used by the Staff for plot purposes as NPCs throughout the course of the RP. 10. A Non-Player Character, or NPC, is a minor character often required briefly for plot purposes in one or more threads. We do not require separate accounts for NPCs, but we do require that major NPCs be played by the Staff. 11. You are allowed as many characters as you like, but we ask that you do not replace currently standing Player Characters, unless they are your own, and respect other player's plots and characters. Also, the same player's two characters should not go out of their way to assist the other or pool assets together without a reasonable, IC motivation. Canon characters may not be replaced without the appropriate RP taking place, and only after consultation with the Staff. 12. Aspects of gaming styles known as "powergaming", "griefing", "trolling", "spamming", "twinking" and other negative styles of gameplay that have not been covered by specific rules are strongly discouraged and may result in various punishment up to and including banning. 13. Be respectful to other Members and the Staff, and do not harass or antagonize a character for OOC reasons; Staff will crack down on this if it seems apparent. 14. Any advertising is currently prohibited. |
