Mara glanced at him for a moment.  It surprised her that he was agreeing with her.  But she also wondered if he was messing with her, using some reverse psychology to get what he wanted.  Would Leroy really do that?  Probably.  She sighed softly and shook her head.  "Yes, it's supposed to be about the two of us, and....not just one giving up everything for the other."  That was how it had been so far at times.

"So....you need to go.  Don't keep Tiberius waiting.  I'll pack your bag."  She had pulled herself together.  Her upset was momentarily exterior, before she shoved it all back down so no one could see it.  She was good at hiding how she felt when she had to.  Mara pulled herself from beneath the arm on her shoulder and picked his bag up off of the floor and sat it on the best.

The truth was, she probably would have gone along, if she hadn't felt so embarrassed by her uncontrolled reaction.  It was too late for that now, though, what was done, was done.  She was sure that she could easily spend the time doing something productive, or buying shoes.....not that her closet wasn't full of them as it was.

He didn't get up off the floor with her. Instead he sighed and lightly dropped his head back against the bed. Now he faced the dilemma of every married man. Was she actually giving into him or was this a test? He thought for a moment as she placed his bag back onto the bed. There was no right answer for this situation. Her display of a few moments ago was something completely unexpected and unforeseen by him. After three decades of being together, he generally had a good feel for Mara. He could expect her reactions, even sometimes finish her thoughts though he never showed it. For her to do something unexpected for him was something that hadn't happened in years.

"What I need is a happy wife..." he said simply.

Now, he got up off the floor, and stood behind her, wrapping her up in his arms. He nuzzled his way to the left side of her face and simply rested his head against hers. It was all he could think of to both reassure her and please her after all that had just happened. They hadn't had a fight in years, so his thoughts went wild for a moment. Seeing her upset was something that killed him, and to see her become so upset because of himself and something he thought she might enjoy, was like being hit in the chest by a charging ronto.

Mara stopped putting socks in the bag when Leroy put his arms around her.  She actually smiled a little, even though he couldn't see it.  "I am happy.  I'm fine...I promise.  Don't worry about it."  She said quietly.  "Just....a little warning next time, huh?"  She wasn't trapping him in anything or tricking or even testing him.  If he knew her at all, he would have known that she wasn't like that.

"I've just...I've held a lot back over the last several years.  I've never said anything or complained, have I?"  Mara asked as she turned around in his arms so that she could look up at him.  Sure, she had never said anything to him about him constantly throwing himself into work, but that didn't mean she hadn't suffered from it to an extent.  There had been nights, that Leroy hopefully never knew about, where she gave the kids cereal for dinner and sat them in front of a holo movie so that she could sit on their bedroom floor and just cry.  It didn't make her mother of the year, but it did make her human.  "And when you said we had this month, this one month to just be us and do things together, I got excited and then Bam...Tiberius is at the door and ready to go."

"If you had been up front about it, I probably would have been thrilled to go.  I miss the excitement and the travel we used to do.  I don't know how long it's been since I have even left Coruscant."
