| The Force is with you. At least, you want it to be.
So you think you can Jedi?
Enough of the puns. This is a guide to, you guessed it, the Force. First and foremost, it would be best to review the Force Rules. In fact, you have to, in order to understand our Force system. Here's a brief overview...
In Echoes of Endor, we use a Force system which works similar to a RPG system, however it is not stat based. The system is necessary to ensure no one character gets out of control. It's one of the few areas where we attempt to force some sort of "balancing" to gameplay.
We start out with the Common Core Powers. These are powers which every Force user ever has available to them, once they begin their initial training. There are then Optional Core Powers, which are not immediately accessible to a Force User, but do not require request or extreme effort to obtain; we merely require either an RP thread of the training in said power, or that it be reasonably acquired in the players background. Now that that's covered, we get into the gritty part of the system; Advanced Powers.
Advanced powers are classified as universal, light, and dark. These classifications refer to the side of the Force, if applicable, the power draws upon. In some cases, these powers can only be used by someone on that particular side of the Force. The Advanced Powers are limited to each "rank" of the two main Force orders, and their equivalent in any other order. These are total amount, not accumulative.
Initiate - 3 Apprentice - 5 Knight/Adept - 7 Master - 9 Council Member - 11 Grand Master/Dark Lord of the Sith - 13
Generally, it is expected that once these powers are chosen, they are set. We understand, however, that sometimes characters change once you play them. If you wish to change your character Force powers, please consult Management.
Now that you understand Force powers, let's get into the factions themselves. You have the Jedi and the Sith. The Jedi are light-sided, and serve the New Republic. The Sith are dark-sided, and are currently unaffiliated with any one government; in fact there are currently several factions of Sith vying for domination. There are no Gray or Shadow Jedi orders, at least at this time. There are certainly independent or rogue Force users, some light, some dark, some gray, and there are several independent factions, namely; the Baran Do, Zeison Sha, Matukai, Jal Shey, Order of Shasa, Wardens of the Sky, Voss Mystics, Order of Dai Bendu, Luka Sene, Guardians of the Breath, and Followers of Palawa. In addition, you, the player, may introduce via request your own independent Force faction.
It must be stated that this is the New Jedi Order. Anyone is welcome to training regardless of age, but a Force sensitive will not necessarily be required to train and failed Jedi are not held in servitude to the Order thereafter. Relationships are allowed, and a Jedi may take on multiple apprentices if they feel it is necessary. Nonetheless, all Jedi are expected to follow the Jedi Code.
Generally, when using the Force, a character is deemed to have an "invisible" pool of energy. We are not going to use any sort of stats system, more of a "common sense" and "honor" system. If there is any issue over whether or not a character has the energy to perform a Force power in a post, Management will moderate the dispute if the players involved can not come to an agreement.
There are situations where a Force power or ability may not be listed by a character or part of the Force system, but usable as a plot device; however the player must consult with Management first on the matter.
Generally, a Force user starts off as a Padawan or Apprentice, but we do allow higher characters. We will not require you to start out at this low level, but please keep rank in mind to your character's age in relation to their development. You may also have characters that are Force sensitive but not a Force user, which may give them certain advantages, but we ask that this fact is stated within their profile.
