Personality: Quiet and reserved, some would consider her cold, but she becomes very warm to those she knows well and can trust. Her exeriences with her former husband, however, have made her weary of others, especially those wishing to enter a romantic relationship with her. She believes heavily that one must know and understand an enemy to defeat them, and constantly seeks knowledge and insight into her foes, and even potential foes. She is known to strategize and plan constantly for possible outcomes, events, missions, and campaigns. She is also known to have made starship design a bit of a hobby, collecting several scale models of various craft which she keeps in her personal quarters.

Background: Born in Kor Vella and raised in the manner of all Karath family children, among the three children of Drake and Raskta, Aura ended up being the most balanced towards her parents, wheras her brothers were split between favoring their father or mother. It is perhaps this trait that has led her to maintain a life of balance.  During her late childhood and adolescence, she frequently visited her aunt, the Associate Planetary Representative of Corellia, on Coruscant; often she spent this time either learning about poltics and the galaxy or babysitting her young cousin. As with her brothers, at the age of sixteen, she travelled to Eshan and goes through the rites of adulthood, becoming a citizen of Eshan and an trained Echani Protector.

She did not stay, however, and returned to Corellia to join CorSec. After training, she was assigned to the Patrol Division in Coronet, assigned to the Blue Sector. During her first year of service, she became highly decorated and is highly praised by her superiors, being slated to undergo Tactical Response Team training and assignment. She opted, instead, to apply to to the Imperial Academy on Prefsbelt IV. She was accepted much to the frustration of her CorSec superiors, deciding to major in Defense & Strategic Studies. During this time, she met a young Alderaanian, Eadweard Panteer, and was instantly smitten by the charming man.

She graduated valedictorian from the Academy in 8 BBY, and chose to join the Navy's Starfighter Corps, undergoing flight training immediately. During her flight training, she married Eadweard, becoming a Duchess of Alderaan. She split as much time as she could between her husband and her deployments with the Starfighter Corps, and before being moved over to the Imperial Navy as a Lieutenant, she gave birth to her daughter, Myra. Her stationing in the Alderaan Sector Fleet helped with her being able to be involved with her daughter's first three  years, however this was interrupted by the outbreak of the Galactic Civil War.

She volunteered for place back into the Starfighter Corps, being re-assigned to the 170th Imperial Fighter Squadron, she was deployed in the Outer Rim. It was during this time she served in the Skirmish over Ylesia and the Battle near the Itani Nebula among other small engagements; and also when her marriage fell apart, as she and her husband increasingly argued over the nature of the Empire and the execution of the war. She ultimately filed for divorce when he openly supported the Rebellion to her and was able to have her daughter placed into the custody of her parents, shortly after her promotion to Captain and taking command of the 170th. The divorce destroyed her mentally, but she ultimately commited herself fully to the Empire's cause and fighting the war.

When word got out that her ex-husband joined the Rebellion, she was reassigned to the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing following its embarassing affair on Mon Calamari, the beginning of its history as a punitive unit put into life endangering situations. Upoon arrival, Colonel Derricote placed her in charge of the sixth squadron of the wing. Her status as a woman and the former spouse of a known Rebel however made the squadron nearly impossible to control. She admired Soontir Fel's efforts within the squadron upon his arrival, and was honored to be allowed to test for the elite fighter group the wing was to become.

She was ultimately accepted as the commander of the third squadron of the 181st Imperial Fighter Group, being promoted to Commander. Following Derra IV, she was promoted to Major, but left out of the Empire's celebrations of the unit. It was a moment that hurt for her, but she disregarded the emotion of it and moved on. She was invited into the Firebird Society afterwards however and accepted, harboring no ill will towards the members of her unit, but towards the Imperial leadership as a whole. Around this time, she was finally able to spend time with her daughter, only to find the child was truly embittered towards her due to her father's death in the Destruction of Alderaan. It was a profound moment for her, as she had never come to terms or truly addressed the act before hand. For the first time, she found her faith in the Empire truly wavering.

She remained with the 181st until shortly after the Nagai-Tof War, by then a Major, when she opted to move back into the Imperial Navy to allow Colonel Maarek Steele into the squadron, who took her place as commander of the third squadron. She was granted the rank of Captain in the Imperial Navy, being given command of the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Pradeux. She proceeded to participate in the Battle of Moorja, Blockade of Chandrila, Battle of the Pindra System, and Battle of Colla, following which she was promoted to Rear Admiral by Ysanne Isard, having previously been promoted to Line Captain, and taking command of the remains of Admiral Leidre Okins' fleet. She led her forces at the Battle of Thyferra, after which he forces were folded into the Imperial Core Fleet. Despite her defeat, she was promoted up to Vice Admiral by Isard, a promotion she felt was undeserved, and given command of the Coruscant Defense Fleet.

She commanded the naval defense of Coruscant but was rendered ineffective by the small size of her force and easily overwhelmed by the New Republic. Forced into a retreat, she hoped that the surface forces of Imperial Center could hold out until a larger force could respond, but that hope was found to be misplaced. She found herself no longer able to follow Isard after the battle and eventually decided to go alone, using what forces she had left to harass the New Republic. She joined her fellow independent Imperials in the Battle of Storinal and the defense of Kuat when it was taken by the New Republic. She wished to join Grand Admiral Thrawn in his campaign, finding the man to be inspiring and the right leader to unify the Empire, but was unable to join him or participate in the resulting battles due to the need for repairs and resupply, which the Pradeux underwent at the independent Gwori Shipyards. During this down time, she discovered that her daughter had been kidnapped by her uncle, Gryphen Karath, now going by the name Gryph Karathas, who was loyal to the New Republic, during the New Republic's Core campaign.

Once back in action, she attempted to defend Garos IV, but failed due to insufficient forces and popular rebellion on the planet. She could not bring herselfto join Palpatine's Dark Empire upon hearing about it. The bitter memories of the mysogyny she faced under the Emperor's rule made her hesitant to join it again, in addition to her utter disbelief that Palpatine was alive again after personally witnessing his death at Endor. She instead resumed independent operations until being recruited by Natasi Daala during the Imperial Reunification. Following Daala's defeat she honored the authority of Admiral Gilad Pellaeon.

The forces placed under her command fought in the Battle of Lucazec and the Battle of Quell before retreating and then fighting in the Battle of Celanon alongside now Fleet Admiral Pellaeon. During the Restored Empire Crisis her status as an advocate for peace become public, at least to Pellaeon. In a private moment, she revealed her support of Admiral Betl Oxtroe's galactic unification proposal from six years ago and her support of the peace proposal by Baron Ragez D'Asta. She and Pellaeon had begun an affair, one that did not last for many more months, but it was surprising to her to see Pellaeon act upon the plan the next day; expecting her ideas to be ignored simply because she was a woman. The moment had a profound impact on her, and made her unceasingly loyal to Pellaeon, despite the failure of their romantic venture.

She was saddened by the failure of the peace talks, but foud herself promoted in the lull of the next four years to Admiral. She later witnessed Daala's apparent death while fighting in the Battle of Columus alongside her, grieving the loss of someone who she looked up to as a leader and an example. She participated in the final skirmishes of the war, attempting to fight off the New Republic but nearly everything that could go wrong for the Empire was at the time. Despite this, she was valued as a fleet commander and granted a promotion to Fleet Admiral shortly after Pellaeon's promotion to Grand Admiral.

She again supported the peace process when it was initiated by Pellaeon, proud of her former lover for being able to do so. She did what she could to support peace once more, and was truly shocked at its success. Shortly after the signing of the Bastion Accords, she retired from the Navy. Granted full honors, she took advantage of the newfound peace in order to find her daughter. Part of her was shamed to find that Myra had been serving in the New Republic Army, having fought in the battles faced by the Empire in its final years, and was now joining New Republic Intelligence. She was also shocked at the fact that she could have potentially killed her own daughter. After spending some time on Coruscant, she and Myra reconciled, and began to repair their relationship.

Several months after the peace process, the decision was made by the Moff Council to have a Legate serving in the New Republic Senate to represent the Remnant and ensure that their voice was heard in the New Republic's policy making. When Pellaeon had to chose, he pointed to the greatest advocate of peace he knew in the Empire; Aura. She was shocked by the appointment, and even more so at the established of the position of Deputy Minister of State for her role, but graciously accepted. Serving the Remnant once more, she oversaw the construction of the Imperial Embassy, and purchased a personal apartment in 500 Republic in addition to her diplomatic apartment at the Senate Apartment Complex and office in the Executive Building. She continued to serve in her role as Deputy Minister of State and Legate of the Imperial Remnant, working tirelessly to forge a new chapter in the Empire's diplomatic history and resetting many of the relationships of the Remnant.
