Personality: Distinguished by his courage, intelligence and resourcefulness, he feels an intense duty to defend his homeworld and protect innocents throughout the galaxy. He has always lacked conformity, and often attempts to broaden his horizons as much as possible. He has formed notable fraternal bonds with those he served with, but with this comes survivor's guilt in regards to those he has lost under his command throughout his military career.

He often tries to put himself into the mindset of his enemies, and sometimes disregards the big-picture view. Some of his physical mannerisms can be found as disturbing to some; very controlled posture and breathing, no fidgeting or wasted movements, becomes very still when in a confrontation, and never breaks eye contact with those he speaks with. He is methodical and calculates every move, even in his every day life. He is known to maintain a strict, regimented workout schedule, despite illness or injury, and is, in counter to this, a heavy smoker and drinker. Due to encounters in his military career, he has formed a hatred of canine animals.

When under stress, he becomes quiet, gruff and stoic; but has a notable aggressive nature otherwise. Often counter stress and fear with dry and dark humor. He can curse heavily, but makes an attempt not to. Has an hard work ethic, insatiable curiosity, and brutal honesty, and prefers to observe unknown situations rather than interact; showing comfort on the fringes of society.

Background: Born in 35 BBY in Kor Vella on Corellia, he was raised within the spartan cult of the city that his family had been a part of since Saul Karath shamed their House, which was known during the days of the Corellian Empire to have achieved nobility, including a dynasty of monarchs around 2,500 BBY, as well as several other non-dynastic monarchs, the last being Jedi Lord Peregrine Berethon. His father was a Senate Guard, and later became a founding member of the Red Guard, who joined the Republic Army as an officer upon the outbreak of the Clone Wars, and continuing to serve in the Imperial Army, achieving the rank of Grand General. His mother was an Echani warrior, part of the Echani High Protectors, who spent her youth fighting Mandalorians, and joined the Senate Bureau of Intelligence during the outbreak of the Separatist Crisis, later serving in Imperial Intelligence, rising to Deputy Director of Operations before retiring.

His father heavily influenced him in his decision to join the military at the earliest moment possible, and his continued service to the Empire. More influential, however, was his mother, who raised him, largely by herself and in the Echani traditional manner, at Kor Vella during his childhood, and then on Eshan during his adolescence. At her urging, he underwent the rites of maturity of the Echani at the age of sixteen, becoming a member of the Echani High Protectors in the process. Despite this, his mother always ensured he was aware, and proud, of both his Corellian and Echani heritage and ancestry. At some point after his achievement of adulthood within the Echani, he is approached by the Sun Guard, but refuse their offer; he is able, however, to secure a home on Thyrsus, to go along his home on Eshan.

While home on Corellia to reunite with old friends from his childhood, and to show off his status as a High Protector, he intervened in an assassination attempt on the Diktat, Duas Thomree, in the streets of Coronet by Corellian ultranationalists who wished to separate from the new Galactic Empire. He was hit by the assassin's shots, saving the Diktat by pushing him out of the way, and proceeded to shoot all three of the assassins before succombing to his wounds and nearly dying before being taken to a hospital. He is awarded the Corellian Bloodstripe of the second class for his efforts and promised a Senatorial appointment to the Imperial Military Academy, attending at Carida two years later. After four years of training, he pulled off a double major from the Academy and graduated Valedictorian of his class in 13 BBY, immediately being deployed in a Special Missions unit and mere days later being deployed to Barab I. After mere months of service, he entered selection for the Imperial Commandos, following the Sartran nationalization operation. He passed selection as Candidate 1, the first, and so far, only person with that designation to do so.

After completing Commando training, he was placed in a test unit, exploring the options of adding a specialized fourth company to the Special Forces Groups, being specifically added to 06 Commando Group, while also exploring the option of utilizing small, highly trained, adaptable operators instead of the highly specialized large teams still in use today as well as the inclusion of enlisted personnel into the Commandos. His first deployment, after only a month with the new unit, was to Renetasia. Spending the entire year on the planet, he became a battle hardened veteran from the fighting, but also lost several men under his command, and develops severe survivor's guilt as well as mild post-traumatic stress disorder. After recovering from his deployment to Renatasia, he was given a string of deployments to Maridun, Dressel, Carratos, Alurion, and Sriluur, before being transferred to the direct authority of High Command and the Special Operations Command, resulting in a move from Borosk to Imperial Center.

Their first day on the galactic capital was greeted with the Great Droid Revolution. Tasked with the rescue of several VIPs, primarily Senators, his unit was shot down and proceeded to fight their way to a safety zone on foot; he procceded to take on all challenges presented by the droids with a ferocity and daring unseen before, and even took down an EVS droid single-handedly. The action received him high praise and several awards, and in the process, results in his promotion to Major and his unit being elevated to that of the Empire's premier and lone Tier One Special Operations unit.

A few days after his awarding ceremony, in which the collective awards he earned from the Droid Revolt were given to him, he was named a Hero of the Empire. Many are left to believe that he had become one of the icon's of the Empire and in line to become a Baron of the Empire. For his notable service, he was awarded Corellian Bloodstripe in the first class, by the Diktat. He spendt the next two years training and perfecting the Special Actions Group, the new name of his unit, including limited deployments to the campaign on Algerian and several other "hotspots". Following the put-down, or at least believed to be at the time, of the Lortan Fanatics, he was granted the title of Baron of the Empire, being granted lordship over Kor Vella. Despite this he opted to retire at the end of his commission, seeing the need of his services elsewhere and joined COMPNOR working as a Sub-Adult Group leader within SAGRecreation. In reality, it was to cope with loss. For two years, he had been dating a young Stormtrooper officer by the name of Viridiana Balis. Balis was believed to have been killed on Algerian and he could no longer bear to wear the military uniform without being reminded of her.

After spending a year training within the Sub-Adult Group, he was moved to CompForce, in order to help train them and bring real military principles and discipline to the force. After training them and serving in the field, he was recruited into Enforcement as a trainer and leader for the ISB Stormtroopers. His excellent service there lead to his movement into Investigations as an ISB agent. Becoming well known as a intelligence and security operative, he was recruited into Imperial Intelligence after showing remarkable capability in covert activities and clandestine operations, much to the chagrin of his ISB superiors. He initially served in Special Intelligence, but ends up as an operative of Renik in the Bureau of Operations. While in Intelligence, he was discovered by an Inquisitor to be Force-sensitive and was selected for Royal Guard training.

He excelled in the training and proved to be one of the most capable recruits yet and within a year was promoted to the rank of Sovereign Protector. His regiment was specially selected to consist of all former special operations personnel. During his time in the Royal Guard, he found that his lover was in fact alive and had become an Inquisitor. They chose to marry fairly quickly after rediscovering one another.

At the outbreak of the Galactic Civil War and it becoming clear that the war would not end quickly, he and his regiment were dismissed by the Emperor. They were to become a "shadow" Royal Guard unit within the Imperial Military. Secretly they were answerable only to him and they were to standby for his specific call at a moment's notice.

Upon return to military life, he joined the Stormtrooper Corps, serving as a Scout Trooper in the 159th Legion on Mon Calamari, after the completion of training and commissioned as a Lieutenant. In the aftermath of the revolt on Mon Calamari and the expulsion of Imperial forces from the system, his actions in the revolt catch the attention of his superiors. The Special Actions Group that he had founded and trained a mere eight years ago had now become the Storm Commandos. He was selected to re-join the organization he worked so hard to build, and found it virtually unchanged. He was meritoriously promoted to Commander and given the position as Executive Officer serving under General Crix Madine. While the Special Actions Group were of his founding it was Madine that took them and molded them into the Storm Commandos, filling vacant ranks with crack Stormtroopers and personally overseeing a new, more intensive training program.

His first action as a Storm Commando was to descend upon Ralltiir and eliminate its military capabilities for further suppression operations. Once the general operations began under Lord Tion, the Storm Commandos rotated out to conduct similar operations in the Kwymar Suppression only to return to fight the insurgency on Ralltiir. They become bogged down on the planet after the Battle of Yavin, where they began retaliation operations against the government and resistance targets across Ralltiir.

He was later assigned to oversee the recovery of Tycho Celchu, testing a new armor during the mission. Following the failure of that mission, he returns to Ralltiir in the midst of Rogue Squadron's raid on the capital city. This would mark the official beginning of a life-time grudge against Rogue Squadron. The extent of his failure on that day was only subsided by receiving the defector, Lieutenant Sarkli, and one of the Ralltiiri scientists whom attempted to escape with Rogue Squadron. With the scientist handed off to Imperial Intelligence, Sarkli meanwhile was debriefed by him for information and on his recommendation, submitted to training as a Storm Commando. Upon return from training, Sarkli was made his aide-de-camp and was trained as a spy. It is through him that Sarkli finds his favor with Palpatine.

After returning from the controversial draw at Restuss, he found that his friend, mentor and commander, General Madine, had defected to the Rebellion. The moment is defining for him, as he found himself questioning his own actions due to a letter Madine had left him explaining why he was doing what he was doing. Ultimately, he remained loyal to the Empire and was promoted to General and given command of the Storm Commandos.

Following a period of re-training and re-filling of the ranks, he and the Storm Commandos were deployed with the Death Squadron; himself being quartered on the Executor itself. During this time, he formed a close working relationship with Lord Vader so much so that by the time they struck Zaloriis City he was considered Vader's top special operations officer. He became intensely involved in all Death Squadron surface operations, kindling a friendship with General Veers. He was part of the cadre that planned the Battle of Hoth and he violently called for Admiral Ozzel's execution upon the Admiral's disregard for the plan, finding out minutes later that just that had been carried out by Lord Vader himself.

Between himself, overseeing the assault on Echo Base itself, General Veers, overseeing the assault on the shield generators and general tactics of the battle, and General Tantor, who communicated between all commands and oversaw the general strategy of the battle, in addition to Lord Vader's personal leadership on the field, they turned the Battle of Hoth from catastrophe into resounding victory. Regardless, he was bothered by the large amount of Rebels that escaped from the field and committed his forces to finding them. Despite the victory, he lives to this day with the burden of knowing the Rebellion could have likely been put down if it weren't for an over-ambitious Admiral.

In hopes of taking down Rogue Squadron, and getting revenge on his treacherous former commander, he set up an ambush over Geonosis. He assigns Sarkli to plan and carry out the operation, however Sarkli utterly fails in this mission. Following the discovery of a still existant Separatist Holdout on the world, he was assigned the mission of re-taking the world and wiping out the Geonosians' manufacturing capabilities. In private, he lead a personal rescue mission of Sarkli, who was spared execution only by his graces. He walked away from the battle completely successful, and accomplished what was considered the final victory against the Separatists leading to a celebration of himself and the now public Storm Commandos. While being based back on Imperial Center, he renewed his personal war on Rogue Squadron within his possible limits. The efforts fail, being unable to concentrate enough resources towards the Ace squadron.

During Zaarin's Insurrection, he personally lead the rescue of Emperor Palpatine from capture. Palpatine acknowledged the former Sovereign Protector's immense worth, and declared his secret Royal Guard initiative a success in the process by declaring him a Warlord of the Empire, the lowest ranking officer to be made so. In private, he was made a member of the Secret Order of the Emperor. He was also at the time given Shadow Guard training, in preparation for an intended transition into the Dark Acolytes.

He would attend the departing ceremony for the Emperor to Endor, during which Palpatine asks for his personal selection of a team of Storm Commandos to deploy for protection of the Shield Generator. Knowing he was needing a show of trust from someone in authority, he assigned Captain Sarkli's team. Shortly afterwards, he was appointed the Commander of the Imperial Special Operations Command and promoted to High General, with the additional verbal promise of consideration for training as an Emperor's Hand having just completed his Shadow Guard training. Now having control over every special operations asset the Empire fielded, he planned to renew his shadow wars, specifically one against Rogue Squadron. He ordered his former Executive Officer, Weir, to assume control of the Storm Commandos and assigned him the responsibility of taking down the squadron.

In the aftermath of Endor, he presented himself to Sate Pestage, ready to either lay down his life or assume his duty as a Sovereign Protector. Pestage is able to reason with him, and talk him into resuming his previous duties, half-heartedly not believing his claim to be a Sovereign Protector until he presented clear documentation that showed otherwise. Following the utter breakdown of discipline within the Storm Commandos, and the capture of General Weir, Pestage ordered him to take personal command of the Storm Commandos once more and train them to be ready to face the soon to be advancing Rebels. Later, upon the Liberation of Ralltiir, he was listed as one of countless Imperials to stand trial for war crimes. This was despite the fact that the Storm Commandos had no involvement in any actual war crimes on the planet. He knew that, ultimately, that distinction would not matter, nor would he likely get a fair trial, and resolved to fight to the death against all Rebel forces he personally faces.

Finding his forces locked down in constantly changing and contradictory orders, he began to plot against Ysanne Isard, who was clearly to him attempting to make a play for the Throne from the rightful Emperor, Pestage. When she takes power, he began plotting a full-blow coup by the special operations community, which backed him completely. On the day of his coup attempt, a morning spent preparing for a night-time raid on the Imperial Palace is disrupted by the mid-day assault of the New Republic on Imperial Center. While most of his men were able to get off-world, he was trapped in the lower levels, having refused to retreat from the capital along with several hundred of his men. They began an insurgency from the undercity against the New Republic resulting in his placement as one of the Most Wanted Imperials, at one point achieving the top spot, by the New Republic Intelligencce Service. He is known in the opening days of his insurgency to have flooded the HoloNet with recordings of the numerous war crimes committed by the New Republic on the day of their taking of Imperial Center, his brother and his wife being among the victims.

During the Third Battle of Coruscant, his forces sabotaged countless defenses of the planet. They were unable however to enable Thrawn's success. When the Fourth Battle of Coruscant occurs he commits the entirety of his forces, honed after four years of insurgency, and completely disrupts both the New Republic attempts at a defense and evacuation. Unaware of Palpatine's renewed life, he is one of many claimants to the Throne in the aftermath touting that he was the only Imperial to not abandon Imperial Center. Taking control of an division's worth of XR-85's that had been stored by the New Republic following Coruscant's capture, among countless other such caches that only he had knowledge of, and commanding the same loyalty of the special operations community he always had, he quickly became one of the leading contenders in the Imperial Civil War.

Upon learning of Emperor Palpatine's rebirth, he immediately ceased his fighting on Imperial Center and retreated to Byss, despite his militarily-honed mind arguing otherwise, and submits himself to the Emperor. With the Emperor alive he offers his life as punishment for claiming the Throne while the Emperor was still living. Palpatine forgives him of this altercation, as he had no knowledge of his existence and summons his long lost regiment of Royal Guards. The entire Regiment was found to still be alive and already on Byss and he assumed his mantle as a Sovereign Protector. While Sovereign Protector Carnor Jax's regiment would oversee the Emperor's personal protection, his regiment was designated the Emperor's personal field unit due to their military experience. The unit is unlike anything ever seen and displays an unrivaled capability. During this time he begins to receive training as a Dark Side Adept, learning the ways of the former Saber Guards and Sith Acolytes, but his role was unchanged.

While cutting a bloody swath through the New Republic throughout Operation Shadow Hand, following the Emperor's second death and subsequent rebirth, he was tasked personally by the Emperor to search the Empire and the Galaxy for new recruits for the Royal Guard while his regiment was stationed on the Eclipse II. The final downfall of Palpatine occurs while he was on a recruitment assigment. He felt the Emperor's death yet again but it is different than before. While attempting to return to Byss from Bakura, he was shot down by an enterprising New Republic patrol hoping to kill a Royal Guard. When they landed to confirm his death, he killed them only to be taken captive by a Rattataki warlord. He was put in captivity and forced to fight in the gladiatorial games on the planet, only to be rescued by Kir Kanos eventually. Both took down the warlord responsible and their efforts destabilized Rattatak for an unforseeable amount of time.

Finally able to sit down and find out what had occured over the past seven years, Kanos filled him in on recent history and gave him access to the HoloNet. The two later discussed their future; while Kanos felt the need to punish those responsible for the Emperor's death, he felt the need to find the appropriate Emperor and begin service with them, pointing out that they ultimately had as much of a duty to the Throne as they did to the man who sat upon it. The two agree to go their separate ways; one to be Palpatine's blade striking out from Chaos, the other to be his hand in ensuring the New Order continued.

He proceeded to make his way slowly throughout the galaxy, working as a mercenary and bounty hunter in order to join the rightful Imperial leadership without being detected by the New Republic. It was only after Daala's forced unification that he was able to rejoin and is granted by the Admiral his previous rank and position as commander of both the Special Operations Command and the Storm Commandos, both of which had become non-existant over the past few years. He began the long process of building from scratch a new special operations community, which he later detailed as one of the reasons the Empire was unable to mount a successful offensive.

He was nearly talked into joining the Restored Empire faction as it left the Empire. While peace with the New Republic was unthinkable for him, he saluted Admiral Oxtroe's attempt to restore the Empire under a legitimate heir and with inclusion of the Rebel leadership, and disdained Thrawn's interference in a matter that would have nullified the Galactic Civil War. Ultimately, his honor and duty prevented him from joining the hard-liners. Following the resolution of the Restored Empire Crisis, rather than fighting the Rebellion as he wished, he is committed to fighting a shadow war with the various rogue Warlords in order to keep them contained and controlled. He detested having to fight his, albeit rogue, Imperial brethren yet again.

He found that like Pellaeon, he is constantly banging his fists against the glass but yet having no voice when it came to dealing with the Moffs, who constantly attempted to assert their control over the Empire. While from a governmental standpoint it was correct, their unyielding stubbornness created a massive rift between the Moffs and the military. With the New Republic's Fifth Battle Group able to competently go toe-to-toe with any Imperial fleet and likely beat them, lacking any manufacturing capability, and the distraction of the special forces community in holding off the rogue warlords, he concurred with Admiral Pellaeon's assessment of the Empire and was a silent participant in his discussion with the Moffs on the matter. During the talks of the Bastion Accords, he was one of several Imperial officers granted immunity from war crimes trial by the New Republic with the acknowledgement that most, if not all, incidences in which he could be tried were due to orders from superiors without being in the position to refuse them or falsely attributed to him. It was the closest to an exoneration as he will likely ever get.

With the peace finally forged between the Empire and the Rebellion, he personally began to recognize the New Republic as just that. He finally returned to his homes on Eshan and Thyrsus to find them safely intact, able to gain the proper permits to reside within them once more and after a year is able to also reclaim his family estate on Corellia. After taking a year long leave, he returned to duty for the Empire, still in his positions as Commander of the Special Operations Command, Storm Commandos, and now the 159th Stormtrooper Legion with the goal of maintaining the Empire's warfighting capabilities.

This goal was seen to with great efficiency and effectiveness. Although outshined by the Imperial Navy in popularity or notability, the special operations community soon found itself as capable as it did back in the reign of Palpatine. His fine work however soon rewards him in an unexpected way. At the suggestion of Grand Admiral Pellaeon and the recommendation of Moffs Sarreti and Crowal, he was promoted to Moff and appointed the Sector Governor of the Obtrexta Sector. Despite resistance from the hardliners, he took his seat in the Imperial government and instantly becomes known as a close ally of Pellaeon and a more liberal and progressive leader than any sitting on the Council of Moffs. Five years later, while still maintain personal command of the Storm Commandos but having relinquished all other commands, he remains and sits stronger than ever politically.
