It was an unknown fact to the New Republic that their newest intern, River Naeva, was the only daughter of a deceased Imperial undercover agent.  One of their best, in fact.  It was partially due to River using her fathers last name as her own, Harmon, and some cleverly and undetectably forged identification documents provided by the Imperial Remnant.  What would she do?  She would earn trust, and work her way up, until she learned enough to return home, to Bastion.  It seemed to her that it would be an easy task and it was unlikely that anyone would recognize her, despite her close resemblance to her mother.  To the people on Coruscant, she was just another young, fresh out of University, intern.

Of course, her living arrangements were simple, but she was comfortable enough.  The only thing that caused her discomfort on Coruscant was the variety of sentient beings on the planet.  The man who had raised her, Nol Agnone (a captain who had known her mother), had embraced Human High Culture to it's fullest and his bigotry had transferred to his ward, though she was better at hiding her absolute repulsion when she came across a Sullustan or a Rodian.

Her job was simple enough; make appointments and keep paperwork in order for the intelligence official she worked for.  He was Lorridian, and very kind to her.  Sometimes she took notes for him in meetings, though there was nothing of note yet that she needed to report back.  Moreover, he trusted her, and that was her goal.  The more he trusted her, the more she would eventually learn.
