|  OSARIAN-RHOMMAMOOL CONFLICT ENDS
OSARIAN – After several tense months which many experts and commentators believed would lead to war, the Osarian-Rhommamool Conflict has come to a close today, particularly thanks to the efforts to former Chief of State Leia Organa Solo. For much of the past three decades, the two neighboring worlds of Osarian and Rhommamool have been in a cold war state over several issues, primarily the economic wealth of Osarian, social support funding demanded by Rhommamool from Osarian, the practice of Osarian sending convicted criminals to Rhommamool to work as miners, as well as the Osarian dominance of the shared, system-wide government.
Some may note that the conflict took a turn for the strange in recent years. A group known as the Red Knights of Life, led by an individual named Nom Anor, entered prominence and changed the conflict into one in which the people of Rommamool largely turned down modern technology, and began to demand that Osarian did so as well. A week ago, Nom Anor was found dead which lead to utter chaos within the ranks of the Red Knights of Life.
This morning, Leia Organa Solo, who had been in the system for a week under Jedi escort, announced a truce between the worlds and a framework for a more equitable government. Following the initial announcement, the government of Rhommamool announced that it was joining the New Republic in declaring the Red Knights of Life a terrorist organization.
The Mediator-class Star Cruiser Mediator has been in the system conducting peacekeeping operations. Commodore Ackdool, the commander of the New Republic’s operations in the Osarian System, said “We will immediately begin starfighter and surface operations on Rhommamool in conjuction with reinforcements from the Jedi led by Jedi Knight Wurth Skidder.” The Red Knights of Life have been given the option to peacefully surrender to New Republic forces, but many doubt they will do so.
The Osarian-Rhommamool Conflict is one of several interplanetary conflict to be settled since the Caamas Document Crisis, with the New Republic now larger in a state of peace. HoloNet News will continue to report on the situation in the Osarian system as it develops.
